Learn More About IP Telephony and VoIP Technology

VOIP is a technology utilized to carry voice conversations using Voice Over Internet Protocol by digitizing voice into discrete bundles that are transmitted independently over the web, rather than traditional circuit-committed protocols of the PSTN. VOIP changes the voice into a digital signal that travels over Internet. For instance if the user is calling on a phone the signals or vibrations of this voice are changed into regular phone prior to reaching the destination. The binary information is assembled into small bundles and inserted into the data field of the IP packet and directed to the destination. This device assists the user to call directly using his computer or through a phone which is attached to the computer. Wireless VOIP is advanced versions of these devices.

At the destination, the handset obtains the IP packet carrying the voice data. The handset extracts the voice data and coverts the data back to an analog electrical signal which is passed into the telephone receiver. The electrical signal oscillates the receiver diaphragm dependably recreating the original audio voice signal.

Voice over Internet Protocol provides a good deal of flexibility and economies of scale. VOIP connection is very economical and easy to install. All you need is a high speed broad band internet connection. VOIP’s can directly be attached to a computer or through an upgraded telephone. There are also many telephone software system available so you are able to use your PC or laptop as a VoIP phone by connecting a affordable headset. In addition to, USB handsets are available for around 10/$15. Computer must be fitted with a headphone if the user wants to use VOIP directly through their computer and not any other device.

VoIP services are more advanced and cost effective and allow any sized business to take care of their customers telephone calls from anywhere in the world. Over 78% of small or mid sized businesses use VoIP services compared to other legacy phone systems. VOIP has several other benefits like call waiting, caller id, outbound caller id blocking, speed dial, last number redial, anonymous call rejection, call screening, three way calling, call hold, call forwarding, voicemail, and priority rings etc.

At the start in 2004 when VOIP was brought into the market there was a very little to no demand for these services. But today with technical progressions and innovative ideas VOIP’s are booming the market. There are many businesses in the market offering VOIP services, many of them are very inexpensive compared to your old traditional telephone.

VOIP’s are very efficient but still they are used on internet protocols where there are chances of getting infected by internet tactics like virus and software hackers. It’s advised not to pass on sensitive or secret information over VOIP. Of course there are security measures can be added without compromising the quality or flexibility of the service.

Hola and Thanks, thankfully this has helped me a lot. Actually, I have been researching VOIP for at least a couple days now, but I didn’t see any product that allows us to make free calls to indonesia, I saved a couple sites that gave free phone calls to the US but didn’t find any for the the reverse direction so is there any software which lets you dial unlimited calls? Can you please email me!

We have been banking with Natwest for about 3 years now, and we have only been able to get hold of a business manager a couple of times. In fact apart from charging for the use of the accounts, there is isn’t much service they provide to my business. It is also quite hard to get anyone to deal with issues – so this might just have been an internet banking account.I wouldn’t recommend Natwest Business Account to anyone.

Speaking from personal experience, I tried several of the so called “free voip services” and i can honestly say that nothing beats a paid service through an Internet Phone Service company. The support is so much better and you still save a ton of money over traditional phone service.
